Daniyal Mubarik Collection at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013

Emerging designer Daniyal Mubarik presented his womenswear collection titled Global Culture at the ZONG Promotes Emerging Talent segment of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013.
Inspired by the evolution of different cultures, the collection interweaved different cultures and their identities to create a fusion of traditional and contemporary fashion.
Daniyal’s creative design aesthetic was displayed through the bold collection, which featured outfits with British notch collars blended with traditional Japanese kimonos and Indian saris mixed with Arabic turbans and African drapes among many others. Indeed, the depiction of different cultural motifs was demonstrative of the yin yang philosophy and showed how seemingly contrary elements could exist in artistic harmony.

  

  

Pond’s Reveal Lounge at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013

Continuing with its tradition of giving you an exclusive preview of the next day’s collections, The Pond’s reveal lounge stole the red carpet all 4 days at the recent edition of the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013. The lounge which was literally the biggest thing on the red carpet, capturing the attention of all the fashionistas and guests.

The Pond’s reveal lounge started with a first day surprise when the hosting of Pond’s reveal lounge unveiling was carried out by none other than the lady who never fails to surprise us with huge and astonishing creations, the legendary Frieha Altaf. The red curtains went up to display a beautiful antique stage with mannequins displaying pieces from the creations of the designers who were set to show their collection the next day at PFDC. On the 2nd day Once again the lounge gave a sneak preview of Mohsin Ali, Zonia Anwer, Maheen Kardar of Karma, Layla Chatoor, Adnan Pardesy and Shehla Chatoor’s collections. The third day, it was Maheen Karim, Ali Xeeshan, Wardha Saleem, Kayseria’s collections on the display.

Just when we thought we had seen it all, the final day of Pond’s reveal lounge at PFDC kicked off with the unveiling done by the elegant Sehyr Saigol. The curtain went up to reveal not mannequins but live models who proudly walked around the stage clad in Feeha Jamsheed’s capsule collection. The collection successfully translated intangible characteristics of the brand into apparel. The line displayed dresses in black, white and gold that paid full homage to the sophistication, poise, playfulness and radiance of Ponds. The curtains came down on the lounge on the final day to applause, amazement and awe.

Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikh Collection at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013

Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikh debuted her capsule collection at the ZONG’s Promotes Emerging Talent segment of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013.

Titled The Archive Collection, the designer found inspiration in old photographs from the Civil and Military Gazette to create pieces that attempted to re-invent a traditional aesthetic sensibility in a more modern context. Based in fabrics such as Stretch Denim, Cotton, Satin and Organza, the collection featured structured and darted silhouettes with touches of cut and thread work in a monochromatic colour palette with hints of blue.

The collection channeled the ethos of ready to wear as separates replete with high waisted shalwars, organza tops, summer jackets et al. Renowned film actress, singer and model Meesha Shafi walked the ramp as Mahgul’s showstopper.



 

Fashion Pakistan Week 2013 Day 1 Red Carpet

The pioneering Pakistan Fashion Council, presented day 1 of Fashion Pakistan Week 5, 2013 – a platform that endeavors to promote Pakistan’s seasoned and new aspiring fashion talent both on the domestic and international platform.

Fashion Pakistan Week 2013 Day 1 Red carpet was attended by many fashion celebrities including  Zari Faisal, Tapu Javeri, Amna Kardar, Faiza Saqlain, Adnan Pardesy, Ahsan Nazir, Shamaeel Ansari and many others.

The show was choreographed by Catwalk Event Management & Productions with back stage management by Production [021] & show production by CKO. Faisal Farooqui and his team at Dragonfly were engaged for all official photography for the event with Hum TV on-board as official media partners and PR being undertaken by Lotus Client Management and Public Relations.
